And the winner is…

MERRY CHRISTMAS, CHARLIE BROWN!

Charlie Brown trounced George Bailey to take the title of Ultimate Holiday Entertainer. Thanks for playing, everyone, and have a great holiday. Raffle winners, we’ll message you soon; everyone else, look for the continuation of the Pet Peeves Tournament in early 2012!

Congratulations, Peanuts gang!

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND: (1) A Charlie Brown Christmas vs (1) It’s a Wonderful Life

We can’t say we’re terribly surprised that the championship has come down to “It’s a Wonderful Life” vs “Charlie Brown Christmas.” These two powerhouses destroyed the competition. So now they go head to head. In 24 hours, we will have a legally binding declaration of what the best holiday entertainment is.

Our prediction? It’s gonna be a close one.
In case you need help making a decision (or shedding a tear), here you go:

FINAL FOUR: (7) Hershey’s Kisses; Handbell choir vs (1) Charlie Brown Christmas

The Hershey’s Kissses commercial is the Cinderella story of this tournament, having made it through the Coke polar bears and the M&Ms seeing Santa. But Charlie Brown (ironically) is the heavy favorite here.

FINAL FOUR: (1) It’s a Wonderful Life vs (3) The Simpsons, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”

We figured the Capra classic would make it to the final round, but “The Simpsons” has had a surprisingly strong showing, defeating heavyweights like “Seinfeld’s” Festivus episode and the #1-seeded “MASH” tearjerker. There might be enough backlash against the classic to push America’s favorite family into the championship round.
